I could tell that this tube driver was going to be fast, considering he gave passengers 5 seconds to either go in or alight. So I dug out my camera and filmed.

This tube is a 1996 stock and it's top speed is 62mph. Well, this tube driver did, and I got to my destination in record time.

  • You can reach 60mph between canada water and canary wharf eastbound but more than that NO the trains have limiters so you cant, wembley park to neasden i would say at best was 55mph and i would know coz im a jubilee driver :D

  • @IBxF4ttySpiiNs At least I was close. =D

  • I am not a driver but i hate ATO aswell, the trains are defently much faster but i much prefer a manual driver they are much smoother than a computer driving the train! At least Dollis Hill to Stanmore is still manual untill June i think.

  • @wangtong04 I, to be honest can't tell the difference! I just care about whether they drive fast or not, but thank you for your view.

  • @IBxF4ttySpiiNs Isent West ham to Stratford manual with the staff halt?

  • @thetubefan11 I forgot to mention that the Central Line travels very fast between Bethnal Green and Liverpool Street station.

  • 62?! What the heck, I speed clocked one going about 85 lol!

  • one question, does the london underground have any automatic trains? I mean no driver what so ever.

and dustomatic100 is kind of correct, I mean some kids like (me) love tube trains and dream of holding this controller and drive these beautiful machines. I mean why automize then, really humans can kind of selfish sometimes. And one more question, how fast can the piccadilly line train go top speed with no speed limit? cheers.

  • @IBxF4ttySpiiNs which stations do you drive manual between?

  • @thetubefan11 a certain distance along the train line the train has to be driven manually but the rest is ato

  • @raffiquk The Jubilee line used to be fast before automatic driving the computer seems to be bringing the speed right down. The victoria and Central line probally remains the fastest at the moment the A stocks can do 70mph but nowdays limited to 50mph.

  • @IBxF4ttySpiiNs With ATO driving now can trains sometimes drive manual?

  • I thought I was the only person who loved tube trains! Which stations was this between?

The Victoria line is usually fastest between Seven Sisters & Finsbury Park and Highbury & Islington & Kings X but I think an automated systems slows it down these days.

The Piccadilly Line appears to be fastest between Hatton X, Heathrow4, Heathrow123 and back to Hatton X.

Old Metropolitan Line trains travelled fastest after Baker St but unsure about new trains.

How can you measure train speed??

  • @wangtong04 i prefer it when its manually driven too. it gives people more jobs. the computer driving proves laziness in the 21st century.
