Car 54 was actually filmed in the Bronx. How many TV shows could claim that authenticity? It helped make it feel so REAL even though it was a comedy. I respect this old series, no end.

This show should have had a longer run, it was great. I think the Toody's would have been a great husband and wife spin off too. They were so good together.

bebe the parrot was one of the best. I watched it with my wife years ago on nick and we both laughed so hard we almost wet our pants!

I never saw the movie but remember there was a movie based on the show. In my opinion you couldn't do a movie version of this show because it's a TV show of course that relies on the sitcom format...hard to do on the big screen unless the movie happens to be a collection of TV episodes edited together...that would've been better.

Absolutely great show. I was so disappointed at how badly the movie sucked, since I loved David Johansen in Scrooged & Let It Ride, but I wasn't suprised. This is definitely one that needs to be on DVD, to join my Bilko, Barney Miller, & Soap sets
