can one bose L1 compact be used for all digital death metal band in a rehearsal room? guitars plenty distortion, drums double pedal, vocals plenty shouting

@celtfiddler thanks for the reply!! think i'll stick my system for the moment! i'd need to up the power output for my next upgrade!! 1 or two of my gigs push what i have to it's limits

@alfie62 A Bose Compact system is probably not going to be as in-your-face *loud* as two 300W powered speakers and a 500W Subwoofer. The compact (like all the Bose® line array systems) is designed for *clarity* of sound, rather than sheer volume. That said, the Compact provides much better bass response than you'd expect from such a small, lightweight unit, and the L1® Compact is easily loud enough for most small-to-medium (say, around 100 to 150-seat) venues.

just wondered if anyone has an idea of how this compares volume wise with my system, two mackie srm450's and a swa1501 bass!! seems to me that the size of this would compromise the bass side of things?
i'm a solo singer guitarist and use midi backings with a roland mc80 microcomposer!!

wich Godin is that?

Hello,
Why is your guitar (what is it? Godin?) plugged into the mic jack? Does the guitar have a mini condenser mic in it? Can you plug the same guitar into the other "guitar" input? I'm thinking of buying L1, and my guitar has a low Z mic in it.
By the way, Estate is one of my favorite songs! You sound beautiful.

@Patsik @follow20091 lets say for example a band has 5 members. they would each need their own individual l1 system per instrument according to the bose demo.
Except if you had 2 singers 1 guitar 1 drums 1 bass then you would need just 4. for optimum quality its best to have 1 per but technically you can have 2 per o.o

@Follow20091 That's my question too.
My band has 5 members and 4 of them sing.
I don't believe we all run through one system?
I have one simple question. With a Yes or No answer.
Is the Bose L1 system Stereo ?

yes

Hello bigred850, thanks for helping us answering a question but I would like to clarify that the Bose compact is a monaural system that spreads the sound +/- 160 degree through the crowd. However you have "stereo" 1/4 and RCA output connectors on the back side. In fact you can only have a stereo image if you have two speakers receiving different signal for each channel and properly placed in order to hear the stereo effect. Paulo

Hello IronMicey911, sorry for the delay answering your question. The Bose compact is a monaural system that spreads the sound +/- 160 degree through the crowd. However you have stereo 1/4 and RCA output connectors on the back side. If my answer doesn't fit your question please feel free to ask whatever you need to know. IronMicey911, just to be more precise I copied a quote from bose website that states a little different than I said. "This proprietary Bose technology delivers nearly 180 degrees of horizontal sound coverage. Sound remains consistent even at extreme sides of the system.
" Cheers, Paulo

could the compact be used to amp a duo consiting of One gutar+vocal and bass+vocal? ( i have a mixer )

The bass on the Compact is powerful enough for an electric bass. The Compact should also have plenty of power to use with a guitar + vocal, and bass + vocal, particularly if you have an external mixer. There are musical styles that would sound better than others. The Bose Compact is great for clarity and projection.
