In this video I will give a review of the Logitech Revue with GoogleTV. The Revue is a digital multimedia receiver that turns your HDTV into a full web browser and gives you access to all your pictures, songs and movies stored on your home network. There are also many apps and web sites currently being specifically developed for Google TV. You will have access to the Android app market and be able to control your set-top-box if you subscribe to a cable or satellite service.

  • The price of google tv was droop to 75, u can find it cheaper if you want, I been using it, it's great for streaming videos, I can't say if it works with Hulu, but they did an update in 2012, my google tv works fine no problems it runs smooth, and I can recomend it to anyone who wants a browser device running on your tv,

  • @espartacos1 Thanks for the feedback! The only negative thing I have experienced is the Netflix app has stopped working. I feel bad because I gave the Netflix app a great review while it was working, but after a month it won't load anymore. Other than that its pretty good.

  • I was looking on amazon for this and i saw that there is a subscription fee may be required

    what is that Thanks

  • @bartsphotoss There is no subscription fee for accessing the basic features like the web browser, file sharing on the home network, YouTube, etc... The fee that you are hearing about is probably the monthly cable bill or Netflix subscription. The Revue can integrate with your cable box to control the DVR and change the channels but obviously that would require paying for cable service, however it is not mandatory and I use my Revue without paying for a cable service.

  • @bartsphotoss continued from above... Also Netflix has an app for the Logitech Revue. So if you want to access the Netflix instant stream movie library you'll have to pay a monthly fee to Netflix, but again this is not required. You can pick and choose what extra services you want to pay for, but you cab also make great use of the Revue for free without paying anything extra. It all depends what you want to do. There is a ton of free content like movies and TV shows you can access.

  • @BigNate84 Thank you

  • @candle38 I see. It should work for you then. Glad you found my video helpful. Thanks for the nice comment.

  • @BigNate84 Appreciate your reply. I understand wireless strength will vary--my main concern is that this would function without having the router directly plugged into it, which isn't an option for me. Sounds like it's workable, so I'm definitely considering it (and didn't know about it before happening on your videos); thanks again.

  • @candle38 I haven't tried the Roku. Wireless set up for the Revue was very easy. I'm not sure how to give accurate feedback about the wireless signal strength. I have a very slow DSL internet connection and everything seems to work. I do have to mention that sometimes when streaming Netflix video the application becomes unresponsive and has to restart. This does not happen when I use my laptop for Netflix. It could be poor wireless signal or a bug in the Netflix App, not sure which.

  • Thanks for the very helpful review! Did I understand correctly that this (unlike Roku) works well with a wireless signal? I'm a tenant and the router's not in my living space.
