Aye, a simple solution would be to wrap canvas and rubber sheeting around the pressure chamber, so it will act as a spall liner to take the worst of the fragments in the event of failure.

This is quite like the kevlar spall liners you find inside your Abrams tanks and other modern AFVs.

Actually it's such a simple thing to add it boggles me when I see people use spud guns without wrapping spall liner around the pressure chamber.

Be carefull with those, a friend had one explode and sent ABS plastic into his arm and chest- his was built differntly though and i think the extra Y fitting at your ignitor will help.
