I'm having a hard time with these modern remixes of Burnside's work. I'm Pretty SURE he wasn't to CRAZY about them his self!
I think it's in bad taste to try and do so!

I think that if you check it out.....he was involved in these remixes....it's off his own album. I get the impression that he was a very flexible artist who enjoyed all sorts of interpretations of his music.

Actually having talked to R.L. about those remix albums myself in 1999 he said to me ... and I quote "That shit ain't the blues!" He knew it meant possibly some money, but he didn't dig how they sounded.

And perhaps he needed the money...I imagine we've all been there. Nevertheless....it works for me! It certainly isn't "true blues"...but it's funky and it appeals to a certain circle of people.

Thank you so much for putting this up.. R.L. is truly a pioneer in blues, too bad he didn't ever get the recognition he deserved.

Either you are of the opinion that this is good, or you are in the other camp. At least it brings new fans to RL's music, which is never a bad thing. I personally like it. It's also a song that girls can dance to, and girls dancing to RL's music is never a bad thing.

This track is awesome. and R.L, was Hip-hop long before Hip-hop was born and was influenced by it later in his career.. Listen to his work in the early 90's.. He played things like a DJ was mixing records. Trust me. R.L Burnside is all about this track.

Was introduced to to R.L.'s music through his modern stuff. I listen to all his music now and have a lot of respect for him as an artist. Stretching out and trying new things is characteristic of an artist. It also means that artist is interacting with and enjoying the creativity of other artists. I enjoy listening to his music through every influence. It makes me feel part of his life. I wish I could have hung around with him and his family on the farm when they ate bbq and played music.
