He faces Dan Miller (13-5-0) in the Octagon at UFC Rio. But there is another side to Brazilian Rousimar Palhares (21-3-0) than his tough exterior. Even though this is his eighth fight with the UFC, for the first time, our crew peels back the layers to find out that it wasn't an easy journey to the Octagon. Catch UFC Rio: Silva vs Okami live on Pay Per View, August 27 at 9PM ET, 6PM PT.

  • i hope he becomes a champion

  • I wanna see this guy lifting some weights. Beast

  • drain those ears jesus fuck

  • Why is he speaking portugese,i thought Paul Harris was from mother england.

  • @hondaciviccoupe10 right... pls watch some fights of this guy, the referee can see the tap, and this guy ignores it, holds even harder... 2-5 seconds longer that it is needed. If that was judo he would be banned for life for anything like this!

    Look here: watch?v=fWqwVhrwriI

1:33, we can see the tap, referee is trying to help and Palhares does it again probably destroying the knee.

I hope one day someone will hold the armbar 3 seconds longer and will teach him what that means

  • @marekmaxpabianice The fight stops only WHEN THE REFEREE STOPS IT, not when the other fighter taps.

  • Some people hate Palhares because they feel he continues to hold onto a joint lock even if his opponent taps. Once you catch someone in a submission, you release the hold when the referee tells you to stop. Not when your opponent taps. I know it sounds cruel, but only the referee can declare that the fight is over. A fighter cannot declare a victory. Rules are rules.

  • dammit, this guy is making me cry.

  • @VCthaGOATdunker ROUSIMAR is a beast when he's fighting in the octagon but im sure outside that cage he's a great human being
