We had a hurricane this past August. It raged all night and the next morning I went for a walk in the aftermath of the storm. There was still a cool breeze carrying the scent of thousands of flowers and other plants that had been deracinated by the gale force winds. This mingled with the smell of the morning mist to create something indescribable. I remember thinking "Ah, this is what heaven must smell like."

So that is my favorite smell—the air of a misty summer morning after a hurricane.

My favourite smell is burning hardwood in the cool, Autumn wilderness. The aroma is like church incense that occurs naturally when fragrant wood is burned in a campfire. I am not entering the give-away contest; just giving my opinion!

My favorite smell: The smell of an empty cup of Lapsang Souchong tea.

I love to smell the leaves before making a cup. I love the taste and smell of a freshly brewed cup. But the highlight for me is when I finished drinking, put my nose in the glass and take a deep inhale.
