  • @Arabhacks how much is the second prius battery? the enginer system for prius starts at 2000 for 10-15 miles of electric drive, or 20-30 of blended mode driving which doubles mpg

  • What is the point of this conversion?

If you simply want to recharge the battery from household current there is a far easier way.

If you want to add capacity there is a far better way.

People have added a second Prius battery that they recharge from household power, without unbolting and placing things on top of the spare tire.

Not saying that this is a bad conversion, just look at all of your options before you decide.

  • Truly Outstanding Work. Great Video :)

  • Have a good time getting out the spare tyre to change the flat one :-P

  • WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET REAR ENDED????????????

  • "plamsa event" LOL

  • Why Lead Acid for this conversion? They are only good for a few hundred cycles, and are going to have to be replaced every 2-3 years. Plus, the weight is substantial. LiFePo4's are available from numerous suppliers that can last for 10+ years. Higher inital cost, but the price is comparable if you factor in a frequent battery change with labor for the Lead Acids. I see that another conversion at the end of the vid is a LiFePo4 conversion. Do you do multiple types of conversions?

  • can you add an acid battery system and get red of the main battery pack since it doesnt work any more, on a 2002 prius? thanks

  • Could be Prius gen1 (2001) converted too? I´m not sure, if it is a full hybrid vehicle. I don´t know, if it could be powered by electricity only.

  • How much did this cost you?
