PART 9 of Bill McGarvey's interview with Anne Rice for BustedHalo on the release of her second book on the life of Jesus: Christ the Lord, The Road to Cana.
TOPICS DISCUSSED IN PART 9: Her support of Hillary Clinton. On the issue of abortion and being a "committed, old-guard social justice Catholic Democrat" in 2008.
Pt. 2 This is not to say that people who feel abortion is wrong would have different opinions if the vote did not go their way, I think the debate will always be there, but it might make abortion less of a contentious topic.

What would you think about putting it up for a vote, letting the people decide, or have it be a state-by state issue? I think one of the reasons Pro-lifers feel offended by Roe-v-Wade, is that their will has been overcome by 9 judges in black robes. If it was voted on, I think a lot of the rancor would go away.

There are some of us who are prolife but want very much to help solve the problem, not simply condemn it, and we are eager for solutions and for understanding with the other side. I hope that after 34 years, the two sides can come together and we can make some headway.

Pro Choice and Pro Life gather to meet in the middle take parts of each idea but Pro life people seem little more pigheaded. That is those who see a straight line and not curved one. The extremist of the catholic church. Seeing every part of the bible as a word to live by not a teaching, a symbol, idea or a story to contemplate
