  • It said "results', not "appearance"

  • did not understand the last part .that after 18 months appears to have surgical like appearance

  • I am going to have this done, doctor said it is better than the 360 degree Nissen Fundoplication.

  • @unccgreen

Hey, can you tell me if the Nissen helped you anyhow and if you had problems making it after Esophyx?

I had the Esophyx last year and is at no good for me as well .

  • I have this problem it seems a better option than taking dangerous meds it is in fact a broken valve that causes the reflux so in essence repair is the only sane option.

  • @uli97 You would be hard pressed to find any surgeon who would do a form of a fundoplication without going through the proper testing. It is absolutely correct that an endoscopy, bravo, manometry, barium swallow are all standards for diagnosing GERD. If you are calling the Esophyx the gold standard for the treatment of GERD, however, that is certainly not the case. I assume you must be referring to the Nissen as the "gold standard".

  • @panduranga001 yes natural. I did nissen and I'm going thru helll!!

  • @unccgreen If he had GERD and all the tests endscopy, 24 ph monitering, barrium swallow and all of these confirmed it as GERD then this surgery would have been gold standard and it also depends on the surgeon's experience..... something must've went wrong somewhere...

  • My friend had this done in Europe and he said he never had a problem again.

  • I had it done and it did me no good. My gerd symptoms were just as bad, and I had a bunch of chest pain along with new digestive problems. I ended up having to do a nissen afdetrwards. I have yet to see data suggesting that this procedure has an effective "easy repair" as they claim.
