  • I remember when the lead singer, Tito Ramos, and I, were both heading over to 106th and Madison Avenue when Joe Bataan came over to us. He wanted to blow harmony (doo-wops) but Tito said we couldn't as we had somewhere to go. Bataan pulled out a knife and put it to Tito's throat and said: "Ya' gonna sing now, motherfucker." And so Tito sung baritone and I second tenor with Bataan singing lead. Man! That was one memorable night in 1962 when we sang the hell out of 'em doo-wop blues.

  • It's too bad that the puerto rican youth aren't being taught about this musical legacy. I was a young kid when this album came out and I'll never forget about it. It was definately a different era.
