Community Transition School Portland, Oregon

Here is a video, produced by David Whitefield Jones of VisualWorks, http://www.visualworksinc.com about a really fine effort from a lot of good folks here in Portland, Oregon to help homeless children always be able to attend the same school no matter where they are sleeping for the night. I had not been much aware of the problem until they asked me to produce this promo for Community Transition School, but the truth is, we have hundreds of children here in Portland whose parents may be living in a different place from week to week. This means that the school districts don't know where the children belong. It was made clear to me that the one most important thing you could give a homeless child was stability. They crave it and react well to it. This school has been successfully providing stability for these kids for years. The school keeps up with each child and finds out where they have moved so they can send a bus after them. This is a fantastic program and has saved a lot of young lives.
