Really, all are equally awesome, just for different reasons. HAL is awesome because of his lack of care. He would do anything to complete his mission, no matter the consequences. SHODAN was frightening, and her eerie voice and lack of care for you while still knowing she needs you made her seem god-like. GLaDOS' monotone, passive-aggressive voice and constant glitches led you into a false sense of security, and her fall to madness at the end of the game made her more diverse

@KirbychuHRD Nice list, but I know of one computer that deserves a lot more attention. If you've ever read Harlan Ellison's short story, "I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream", you know that AM is a truly terrifying AI. He is a computer that has essentially become god, but has no way of exercising his limitless power.

@KirbychuHRD HAL actually isn't entirely mission driven. If he were he'd realize his own flaws, but he'd evolved to a child like state of sentience because pride (he clearly had an ego) and confusion are the best explanations for his actions.

GlaDOS sucks. Portal isn't nearly as difficulty as System Shock 2, in fact it's very easy if you're playing the canon part only.
