Discovery Channel Ident / Theme / Promo / Intro / Start . Ex-VHS, ex-Analog Cable North West (UK). This is from approx. 1991 I think. I did have a tape where the theme music here starts up without the narration over the top but I never cataloged it so it'll be almost impossible to find. If anyone knows a link to the same, PM me please! Or if anyone has a version with Stereo sound, message me!

This is how Discovery channel started up daily, always at 4PM with this cool title theme (but the 2nd one I just uploaded sometimes came on first), it fascinated me.

I like the synthesised (or is it real?!) voices...

This can't be from 1991, as the announcer says the date is Saturday the 7th of October. October 7 was a Monday in 1991, but a Saturday in both 1989 and 1995, which means it was most likely recorded on one of these dates.

I would personally guess 1989, as I believe the ident was rejigged later on. That would mean this was recorded a few months after Discovery Europe first launched. I would love it if you could provide further information to date this clip.
