  • I can't believe that this isn't on DVD yet!

  • @33Keith33 I agree. I think it is the best version.

  • @JOEDEAN2008 I would have been rude too with singing this awful.

  • @KarinPluss Irene's voice was always sure to bore. There is only one thing I have to agree with in your wrong statement that is correct. We all certainly do have different tastes.......Thank God!

  • @ifluvinguiswrong I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. Grayson's voice is an explosion of high-pitch and vibrato, while her personality and acting isn't an explosion of anything. Very dull and most of her successes were thanks to technicolor, massive supporting casts and and marvellous music from films already made and done so much better years before. .

But hey - we've all got different tastes, thank God.

  • @KarinPluss Kathryn Grayson was by far the more incredible singer. A soprano never before rivaled in film. This version doesn't compare or come close.

  • Carnivale!

  • THANK YOU HAPPY SMILES

  • I'LL SHOW YOU WHO SHE IS!!

  • @33Keith33 I saw it on VHS tape about 10 years ago. It hadn't been available for aeons.

  • This I think is the most affecting performance of this song ever. Dunne worked very hard to take it from the category of a warhorse everyone had heard a thousand times to a three-act dramatic play. She also asked to sing live for this number and did though there had to be some post-dubbing to bridge the film editing. She loved both the song and this moment in the story. She had done the song in the stage version and so knew how powerful she could make it.
