Tribute to Alabama WR #4 Tyrone Prothro. He started his 2005 season out very very well but then suffered a horrific injury against Florida (Broke both bones in his leg). He's become a Bama hero in a short time. Watch the video to find out why

  • 4 years later, this bonehead decision still makes me furious. What idiot coach not only leaves his starters in the game late in the 4th quarter of a 31-3 game when you have one of the most dominant defenses of this decade, and have the stupidity to go for it on 4th and 5 with a long pass play? Tyrone Prothro would have been a star in the NFL, but Shula took that away from him. Besides, Alabama probably would have went undefeated that season and who knows maybe won a national title.

  • how many titles have you won anywhere? NONE.

  • I think Tyrone cracked his leg on an earlier play, if you can find the game.

Tyrone is the type of player that plays over his abilities, gives 110%, and was prone to the catastrophic injury.

When he made his ESPY catch, the announcer after admitting it was the best catch he had seen in 17 years of college and NFL, was surprised that he didn't break his neck. That was how Tyrone played and blaming the coach would not have prevented this type of injury down the road.

  • @MRDx37 and what about you? do people remember your name? did you play football at alabama? no, because you"re a loser who sits on the internet all day. People don't care about a title as much as they care about the person himself.

  • No he didn't unfortunately

  • did he ever make it to the nfl

  • poor guy woulda been something special if it wasnt for his injury

  • I love watching this video...I think I've watched it 50 times already.

  • @SKOLLVIKINGS28 wow I didn't know the score of the game in which he got injured. I didn't know what happened to him until I saw Real Sports HBO Wednesday night. Now he is a bank teller down the street from the stadium? And has to deal with a bad leg for the rest of his life? College Football really is a sausage factory. You love the end product but you hate to see how it is made.

  • @ATLVET haha imagine him and percy on the same team wow just amazes me to think about it....i really wish that alabama coach took him out of the game cuz they were up huge....

  • Whenever a guy that small lays a hit like that, you know he's NFL caliber.

  • The block is really what impresses me.
