@Tougemaster06 Socialist aren't fighting the info war for the most part, capitalists produce power point animated presentations to get their points across, meanwhile socialists rely on live speeches.

It doesn't matter what excuses we come up with, we generally fail to get our points of view out there in an effective manner. Honestly I think this meeting/speech was a big step in the right direction, but we live in a sound byte culture and we have to be more savvy. Stewart Alexander agrees btw :3

@Laughingblades Well, Capitalism vs Socialism is a complex subject. Its not simplistic. Sure we can talk to the direct wants and needs of the audience, if we want to oversimplify the nature of the issue (Which is dishonest) Maybe the problem is that people are too impatient and are too obsessed with instant gratification.

@Tougemaster06 A big part of it is that Capitalists are just better at propaganda and soundbites than you are, and speaking directly to the wants and interests of their audience. A big part of the problem is that socialists are often long winded and fail to deliver their message effectively. Listen to Noam Chomsky for instance, the man is slow, he pauses constantly, it takes him forever to make a point.

One good thing about youtube and twitter is it's helping to refine arguments/

@Laughingblades Capitalist just have very idealistic and simple arguments of society's problems, thus people believe them. Plus, capitalist have the advantage of capitalist totality and that America is already a very anti-intellectual culture. Socialism requires people to think in a radically new way, which is not the American way of doing things..

Socialists are normally terrible debaters because they're too ineffective at communicating. Capitalists on the other hand have mastered the art of communicating their ideas, and can fill someone's head with a dozen notions in under a minute while socialists drag on for hours trying to finish a single sentence.

@Nadav34 Hey so do I dude! So glad to hear there are other socialists that have a specific pragmatically achievable plan toward socialism instead of just the perpetual arguments about ethics (which do love nonetheless)
