Biblical Archaeology 1 (Bonfire of the Inanities)

Some people make inane, unsupportable claims if they think it'll help their cause. The examples used here are from Creationist websites that are attempting to claim that archaeology supports their world view. It doesn't. Yet some people will still leap to their defence, generally without actually bothering to check what they're saying. Then again, archaeology has always attracted the attention of idiots who will try to usurp it to their own ends. Maybe they've seen too many Indiana Jones movies and think they actually have an insight into what we do?
'Thecountrysquire', a 'contributor' to this thread, is a beautiful example of a person who in their desperate attempts for a 'Matlock Moment' that will bring the entirety of science from Archaeology to Zoology crashing down, makes claims so inane that you just can't think of a witty riposte. He's also an excellent example of the kind of confused fuckwit that this video is about. 'Thecountrysquire' (who I would willingly bet has so little in common with a real country squire he wouldn't know a fish knife from his arsehole), not only demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of archaeology, history, evolutionary theory , (There's a beautiful, foot shooting moment when he tries to demonstrate dendrochronology inaccurate by demonstrating he hasn't a clue what it is :-) ) etc he even demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of ID. He does this by managing, with the consumate ease of the truly incompetent, to undermine the 'scientific' foundations of his chosen 'theory' by associating it with creationism. This is something the Discovery Institute is so desperate to avoid they daren't even turn up in court to support fellow IDiots in case they perjure themselves!
Couple this with his inabiltiy to identify an ad hominen attack, his defence of his mistakes, his inability to deal with adult language, deep dependence on second hand quote mining, an implied proclivity toward hanging around in public toilets so long he has time to take note of what's written on the wall amongst a plethora of other base stupidities; he chooses to advertise this to all his friends on his own channel as if it was a virtue. Despite all this, he arrogantly appears to think that his opinions deserve even the slightest respect from people who have actually gone out there, done the studying, done the shovel work and produced results. If he'd done anything other than ignorantly cling to a plagiarised set of desert dweller myths and actually do a little work himself, he might deserve a scintila of someone's time. Put simply, if he's too stupid to even do the basic research to back up his assertions, he'll get treated like a fuckwit. Think of it as Evolution in action. Some people's IDiocy truly knows no bounds.

All anyone has to do is see an animal react to noise or movement in the woods and watch it assume something is there, something invisible to be wary of. Some unusual invisible force that must be respected and scared of, and how easily this assumption can be extrapolated into an all mighty invisible being at the cause of all things unknown by sentient beings. Belief in god is proof of evolution.
