this is from a community theater in thousand oak calif. THIS IS NOT BROADWAY. the mirrors are two feet of the ground.plus if you look they look like fun house mirrors. i did this two week run with her.so lay off already. she had just had her son. but they wanted her anyway. look at wanda in the new video from the gala. she's amazing. and besides not putting donna down at all but in the 1985 tape of her return to broadway she doesn't even do the turns at the end.

Actually, you are dead lying. This has most of the national tour cast in it, is from between 79 and 86. She does not have a son, she has a daughter. AND Donna DOES the turns at the end of the 19*88* return clip.

maybe she's not in top form here but she was a great cassie and a terrific val. and, for the record, i've seen the entire vid of this performance and i'm guessing it's from a stock tour or regional production. the rest of the cast is very young and, at times, it's almost like watching a college production.

i actually like her performance here... whenever cassie says she's been sitting around 'getting fat and going crazy' it doesn't make sense when cassie is a stick figure. makes sense here.

The original Broadway production (and the revival for that matter) never used glass mirrors. They were ruled out because they would have been too heavy.

Ummm, Wanda does have a son, born after her daughter. She lost custody of him and has been battling to get him back. check your facts loveangela, dear.

I just finished watching the full production that this was taken from, and am inclined to agree. It started with the fun house mirrors (on Broadway they use glass, and I'm in the middle of of a production that's using Mylar), and I was convinced when I saw the finale, with its community theatre costumes (no baggy gold pants in NY). Great dancing, yes, but this production is not from Broadway. Still, there's a lot to learn from "Wanda" as the older, better than the rest, Cassie.

y'all need to examine some of your thought processes!

a) Cassie admits to being a bit out of shape

b) Wanda might not be heroin chic in this video, but she's NOWHERE close to being fat

c) She dances it perfectly. Michael Bennett, Baayork Lee et al were happy with this performance....are you all claiming to have higher standards or more valid opinions than the people who created the show?

I believe wanda had recently given birth.. cut some slack kids... and if you listen to the orchestra - this wasn't bway or a tour.

We were in ACL together in Chicago...she wasn't fat then, looked great as Shelia...thank god she can sing...ugh.

I'm guessing this is from right before she left. She was pregnant.
