Here are the resources I have for those wanting to learn Sinhala. Feel free to contact me with questions, concerns, etc. Hope this is helpful at least to give you title and authors to search online.

Also, I forgot to mention in the video:
"SAY IT IN SINHALA" by J. B. Disanayaka. That book has been very, very helpful. Would definitely recommend buying it. It outlines the language well.

"SINHALA" Phrasebook by Lonely Planet. It goes well with the "Say It In Sinhala" outline, is extremely helpful, and is decently priced.

"AN INTRODUCTION TO SPOKEN SINHALA" by W.S. Karunatillake -- I've heard this is helpful but I haven't be able to find it for a reasonable price, yet (price is in the hundreds from what I've seen).

    Thanks.

  • Hey, I would definitely like to see what observations you've come across, I know even less than you do about sinhala, but I'm trying to make some great strides in my linguistic develop by Christmas 2010, because I too will be going on a trip and spending about a month in Sri Lanka. Thanks all of your videos have been quite helpful.
