Watch as this officer violates and humiliated a disabled man in Akron Ohio. This has gone on for 3 years or more mostly at the courthouse. Why are those who are supposed to protect us the one the violate the law and the claim they did not know. If I do something wrong the same people tell me ignorance is no excuse.

  • The International Association of Assistance Dog Partners, , urges the Akron Police Dept. to educate officers about how to handle a claim that a dog is a service dog. Learn what is and what is NOT permitted by federal law so as to avoid bad press and upsetting disabled civilians. Suggest you distribute a print out of the Dept. of Justice summary of the new ADA Service Animal regulations, the link to which follows this comment. Thankbyou

  • Lolol the cop got mad but if he would have asked 3 minutes before it would have saved all the harassment lol

  • Do you have to show proof that the dog is in fact a service dog? Wouldn't the dogs service dog vest make it obvious the dog is a service dog?

  • This is abhorent. However, I don't put the entire blame on the officer - instead I blame the chief of police for not making sure his officers are better educated about service animal laws.

  • It's not illegal to show proof, but it was 100% illegal for the officer to demand proof. Also, many SD users do not need handicapped parking. Why should they be forced to take advantage of the system? That officer needs some serious retraining. I hope someone called his boss, and if that didn't work, the DOJ.

  • THAT WAS VERY ILLEGAL FOR THE PERSON TO SHOW ANY PROOF THAT IS IT A SERVICE DOG...........
