When they are given subjects to talk about, their not "improvising"... which means it ISN'T fake. The producers tell them things like "Talk about what you did last night." The cast will then talk about it, not "improvise".
The "'it's not scripted line' is something the cast has to say to avoid saying the truth"? You say that as if you've ever been there during filming to know what "the truth" is. Watch the paparazzi footage of the girls filming... no scripts, no line-feeding, no retakes...

maybe so .obviously the crap they say is far to uninteresting to be scripted but they have admitted that the bosses give them subjects to talk about and then they have to improvise....which means it IS fake.
and the 'it's not scripted' line is ALWAYS something the cast have to say to avoid saying the truth

your right. it's about 90% fake and no matter how much the fans protest that it's real it really just a soap opera.
but i don't think lauren always knows whats real and whats just setup
she seems REALLY fed up and annoyed with the obviously 'setup' scenario's

Yeah I feel the same, watching in the UK it does tell us that some of the scenes have been created for entertainment purposes so it can't all be real, but I will still watch and still be sucked into it lol

As much as I LOVE The Hills... I can't help but believe that this is ALL FAKE! I mean they make this trailer look like it's supposed to by a t sitcom, not a reality show. Like it's Gossip Girl or 90210. This has to be scripted dude. Mann and I really loved this show:( oh well... (I'm still gonna watch it!)
