ITs easier getting them out later without messing up the tannk. Obviously, they'd head straight for the moss as a sanctuary from the net while the owner is trying to catch them, and so you end up having to move th moss, and the prawns just follow it. ITs easier this way.

I wouldn't mind raising prawns- I've done just about every other crustacean commonly considered "pets". Any idea where to get larva/ young specimens?

throw in some moss and floating plants and slap some gravel in there. It may be a holding tank but at least make the prawns feel a bit like home. .
