This is remarkable - at the end of her career and one can still understand why she was admired and that she was not just a pretty face (which she very much had!). The phrasing, the thought and even the production - especially at a time when she was said to be in terminal decline. Of course there are things she probably can't do but what she can she does very effectively.
Great soprano and actress. Pity she has been forgotten! What a film her life would make! What about that other wonderful singer, the Scottish tenor, Joseph Hislop (1884-1067)? She employed him in her Chicago company in the 1920s.
