JEAN-FRANCOIS DANDRIEU

Le Carillon

Clavecin facit kamei 2007

Copy of louis Denis

Due musici

When one thinks of French harpsichord music in the 18th century, two names spring to mind, those of François Couperin, "Couperin the Great," and Jean-Philippe Rameau. There is no doubt that they wrote remarkable music and that they deserve their reputation. But we must not forget that French harpsichord music reached its zenith at the beginning of the 18th century thanks to a whole generation of musicians, which included, besides Couperin and Rameau, such luminaries as Louis Marchand, Louis-Nicolas Clérambault, François Dieupart, Jean-François Dandrieu, and others. Some of these were famous in their time, but when they died, their fame died with them, until they were given back the place of honour.

  • thank you! Of course Bach is beautiful! but he had the knowledge of different styles of French, Italian, German, so his music is universal!

Dandrieu, his music has been expanded line of French late music.difference is this.

Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, ecc. Senza sconosciuta non era grandi compositori!

(there is someone who can really understand art.

Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.. Without unknown was no great composers!)

  • What a shame the comments stopped 2 years ago! This is fine music recorded with just enough bloom and reverb to add richness and character.

SDG
