The Fuzz Head just sounds like a high gain tuned overdrive in these clips, where as the Sun Face sounds like a real fuzz. . . And I've heard the Sun Face cleans up better, which is a HUGE plus. For true FUZZ, the Sun Face is the way to go. The Fuzz Head is a nice change of pace though.

i like my fuzz pedals to be a little muddy so the keeley is looking good to me

To me the sunface is much nicer sounding. i guess, that is why i have two of them. one normal nkt275 and one high gain. the keeley may be a good pedal, if you don't hear highs so good anymore. :o) like all things, keeley does. and fulltone. and lovepedal. but thats just my opinion...

I completely agree. On what I hear now, the Analogman sounds brighter, the Keeley muffled. But if the Keeley is so adjustable, it might be able to deliver all the tones of the Analogman. Both great pedals, by the way.
Can anyone tell me the amp that these were recorded on?

I prefer the Kelley, I own one, and R.K. includes several caps with different values so you can tweak with the tones (bass, mids, trebble), and for 5bucks you can order more if you like, also there are two internal wheels inside that allow you to dial on different fuzz ranges, and another for bass, trebble adjustments. The Keeley Fuzz Head can be set up to sound like any other fuzz sound you are looking for, oh, and you can switch from Germanium to Silicone transistors. That's a lot in one box.

It's true, we all hear different things I guess, but I think I prefer the Keeley. I've checked them both out before and though they are both really decent, the Keeley to me isn't as muddy while it seems to be more transparent. I want a fuzz to give me fuzz while allowing my gear to retain it's signature. I don't care for a pedal to color my tone too much or to, in this case, be too bassy or dark.
Great video!

Thanks for doing the A/B comparison. I was looking for a new Fuzz sound and hopefully I found it. I just ordered the Sunface from analogman. Both sound very good but the Sunface just sounds to my ears a little warmer exactly what I am looking for. Thanks again.
These units sound nearly identical. The Sunface has more bass & is more "Blue Cheer" than the Fuzz Head but I'm sure more bass could be dialed into the FH. I'll be getting my Fuzz Head in the mail later today & I can't wait!
