  • The 8mm films I have from the 1950's, super 8 sound films, & some 16mm don't have any problems, but I just discovered a fair sized collection of 16mm soundies films on 2000' reels stored in cans at a different location from the 1940's that are ruined due to the VS. They have shrunk and won't run through the projector, one reel is even rusted. The film is covered with something that also distorts the picture & is hard to clean off. Too late to attempt to clean, restore, & transfer these.
