  • Although OA call outs are held infront a large group it still a sacred tradition and should be for those close to the Scouts involved, that is why it is not supposed to be recorded by video or still picture. Which ever one of the ceremony team is talking will, or is supposed to, stop if they see a flash or some one recording and say "Brothers, there has been a disturbance among us!" If the photographer does not stop videoing/taking pictures then the cremony team will end the call out.

  • @KingOfCatfish it may be like that in ur lodge but not in mine. the call out is an open ceremony for anyone to watch and pictures and video r fine. im a brotherhood member of coosa and theres never been a problem.....

  • isnt this suppost to be secret, its people like you who ruin the anticipation for the event.

  • @chiefs61647394 tap out ceremonies r not one of the secrets" of oa. tap outs r generally held in front of an entire group of scouts, as this one was done at summer camp on parents night. parents and all other visitors to the camp were invited to attend the tap out.

  • Allowat needs bonnet work. Whomever built it didn't back stitch ( or they are loose) the feathers.

  • @KingOfCatfish I was selected for the OA in 1982 in front of the ENTIRE summer camp !!!! Even the families of the scouts were invited. The Ordeal part was kept secret. Maybe it is something that your particular lodge does; so please don't put down other lodges and their traditions.

  • @GetScopedGaming mic o say is a copy of the order of the arrow formed 10 years after the O/A. It is only in St. Joseph and Kansas City Missouri. The few other lodges have switched over to O/A over the years.

  • @tunnelportterror You have no idea what you are talking about. The BSA is extremly careful about youth protection - more than any other organization that I have seen.

  • It is very disturbing that people still are ruining the purity of an OA tap out ceremony. Why do people need to show this to the public. And most of all, why ruin what younger scout have anticipated for years? My tap out was honorable, secret, and was a MILESTONE in scouting career. shame on you fellow brothers.

  • SILENCE!! AND *NO* CAMERAS! i see things have changed since my day. colour me old.

  • @blackdot550 Search up micosay camp geiger taping fire, thats how you do a cermony of selection.

  • oh and the tap out is solemn, but not secret. when you are admitted, that is kinda secret. Brotherhood admittance is even more secretive

  • @GetScopedGaming dude mic o say is the lame copy. came later because whichever council it's in didn't use the OA

  • This is kinda weird. It looks kinda like a lame copy of mic o say...
