NOT SEEN in videos or on looms until now* is the Picot Bind off Edge or Picot Cast off for looms by Kristen at GoodKnit Kisses! This is a beautiful stretchy and decorative bind off and you've seen it here on the loom without needles FIRST! This can also be done on needles but currently none for looms shown or documented.

Thanks for watching, Happy Looming!!

  • So I just did this on a hat that I was making and it is soooo adorable. This hat is also the first time i used a purl stitch on the loom because I am so very new to this so Thank you very much I am learning sooo much from your videos. I do thing that the Picot edge looks better with a bulky yarn because what I used was a much finer yarn and it is cute but on the one you did with the bulky yarn it is more pronounced! I am certainly going to try this again with a bigger yarn. Thanks again!!!

  • @lacysorcas thanks for the tip!

  • Ahhhhhh...I just bought the MS Loom and have ALL the Knifty Knitters...are you going to continue with both? What do you think of the MS Loom? I don't find the pegs as friendly as the Knifty Knitter Looms. :(

OK, back on subject...what is the stitch pattern you used on the cowl? AND the picot bind is a wonderful addition to this!

I have GOT to make this now!

    Hugs!!!

  • @SunflowerAntics LOL!! Hey so sorry for the long delay and you were so excited! I have been sick and also in a musical happening this week, EEK! Anyhow THANKS! Yes the Picot is now my fav! The cowl is just a simple harder stitch pattern. Actually in your MS loom manual look @ pg 19 I think to the hat pattern. it asks you to build the loom a certain way and use two strands of #5. Then knit in garter for 50 rows. I use 1 strand of #6 Hometown. harder stitch for 73 rows & picot BO. Have fun!

  • That's pretty cool, Kristen! :) I think you're right...I haven't seen this in the looming world myself either. Terrific video and technique!

  • @GoodKnitKisses Glad you are feel'g better and don't worry about a thing, this time of year can get VERY hectic! Thanks for the reply! ;)

  • Great job also showing another way to use the MS Lion Brand Loom--tysvm

  • what a beautiful edge I have never seen anything like this ---wow--another fabulous video --love the idea of doing a nubby patter on the edge ---

  • P.S. That is a beautiful edge to your item, and it reminded me if it was for a baby, that you could attach a few "tabbies" to some of those "Peek-O's"... maybe out of different textures for baby to play with while snuggling in the blanket! Really fun idea:) Thanks again for taking the time to show all of us Loomers how to do this edge!

  • I ditto Bethany! This is an excellent tutorial, and I would never have figured all of this out without your video! Now, I can make those pretty slippers that Bethany Dailey has on her website of GettinItPegged :) Thank you, Kristen!!!

  • Very cool. I love the color.
