I agree with the plant-foot placement info, but there are numerous examples of "flat-planed" kickers (Gary Andersen, the Bahr brothers, Martin Grammatica, to name a few) who get the ball up quickly. It's the same principles that govern the golf swing ... if you get knee-lock at the proper moment of inertia, hitting behind the ball just below the midline as the vector of the leg-swing is headed straight forward, nothing else matters.
