Both great artists with one of Fats signature tunes. Looks like a great concert.

I still remember watching this as a kid and we were told it was live with Ricky Nelson and Fats Domino..then half way local news anchors came on and admitted that the concert was recordeded and announce that Ricky Nelson had died in a plane crash a few hours ago in Texas.
On another note I love all the saxes from this concert and that is what made me want to start playing.

"Rick was the headliner???" really? at that point??? He can thank his Mom and Dad for his status.... Fats on the other hand was a legend THEN due to his own talent

The great Herb Hardesty on sax~

@postatility Thanks, man, I only knew people like Dave Newman and Don Wilkerson.

Wow, nice video. Anyone know who did the sax on this? No slouch, obviously.

@hah13 By that time, people were buying more records than before.
What Fats have maked realy big are his simple lyrics. He used never complicated lyrics.Everybody can always empathize in his songs. He is such and nice and wonderful person. "I'm walking" was actualy one of the first records that have an "fade out" on the end....

Um, reality check: Nelson isn't being "humble" or "a gentleman" by giving Fats Domino the spotlight here. Domino *wrote* the *song* and was one of the people who started rock and roll. What Nelson is doing is simply common decency; he's giving Domino his due.
Remember, Nelson may have sold more copies, but he paid Domino a royalty on every one he sold.
