Ponte de Lima

Ponte de Lima is located in the southern bank of the Lima, a small river with sources in Spain.

The oldest village in Portugal, it was historically significant as a Roman settlement in the road from Braga to Compostela and Lugo, and the first place in Portugal getting a municipal chart. Every second Monday it holds one of the largest country markets in Portugal. The attractive rural area around has the largest concentration of baroque manors in Portugal (Bertiandos, Brandara, Calheiros and Pomarchao are among the best known). Some provide tourism accommodation.


É caracterizada pela sua arquitectura medieval e pela área envolvente, banhada pelo Rio Lima.

wow i was there in 08 for a friends weading but i miss that place so muhc, i gauruntee it is the cutest town/county you will ever visit! There is a icecream place right by the parkinglot by the beach and it is the best! If i ever had the chance i would go back there....while i was there igot the chance to go across the border to a city named Vigo to a nude beach ( i didnt know it was till i got there lol) and they have a awesome market at the time <3

I LOVE Portugal. I lived in Azeitao for a year but came up North a few times and the north is amazing. I remember having a cigarette (which I've since quit) with a close friend on the banks of the river in Ponte de Lima while the sun was setting. I was only there once but it has a strong connection to me. Eu tenho saudades!!!
