The movie tanked 'cause "Avatar" was released around the same time. And what made "Avatar" such a special film? A must-see?
The 3-D. And now nearly every other picture is coming out with the whole 3-D gimmick. Yes, the only thing in "Avatar" we hadn't seen before was that damn 3-D. 3-D was never like that. If only "Surrogates" had the 3-D.... Ah, well.
Huh. Now Mr. Max "Fantasy-Land Football" is a filmmaker. Hope he makes another one.

4:00--This reviewer was kinda cruel, pointing out that no one knows Elizabeth Banks by name. She really couldn't help but establish that. I'm sure the "world's busiest day player" will be household name eventually?
"Surrogates" is a sci-fi action thriller based on a comic book. A picture in the tradition of "Blade Runner," "The Matrix" and "Extistenz"... not trying to show a hi-tec idealistic paradise, but a possible techno-hell-on-Earth. I'ma gonna check it out.
