wow, I wonder if Borges' thought of the vatican Library when writing the Labyrinth or Name of the Rose author when looking for inspiration on the workings and communions of the characters in his book by looking to the Holy Mountain's monks. red wolf conspiracy has a little about a school with prayer and Terry Goodkind has a section where prayer and chants were integrated into his life by his torturer. He even had moments where he dreamed and woke up saying a chant from a prayer session.
