A few days after my video of how well I feel, I relapsed! LOL! I spoke a little too soon, as i had only been on Tysabri for five weeks at that point. As this video gets uploaded, I am on the mend (July 19). I took a course of steroids which ripped through me this time, but did the trick.

  • haha I laughed so hard when i heard your little song here :)))

i was diagnosed about a month ago, at age 19 and this is the first thing about ms that made me laugh :)

i've got a question though: since i have ms so early in my life, does it mean that i have greater chances of developing some really big dissabilities than those who get ms when they're like 40?

  • I don't know how I did not reply sooner. I am sorry. No, I do not believe that you will have a greater chance of developing big disabilities when you are say, 40.

You are diagnosed at a time when research has been sped up, and there are better and better drugs that will prevent disability.

You can ask your neuro what he/she thinks, but remember that every case is different. It is easy to think statistically, but take my advice: don't.

  • Hi Marlo

you are such an inspiration and giving me so much power in fighting .. no more linving with my ms.

I was diagnosed spring 2009 and had 3 relapses in 5 months - the worse i am the more i think of you sentence "you have not to look like shit just because you have ms ... "

a smile and power for you:

  • Hi Judith,

Thanks for your words. That is so lovely to read. I send the power and a smile right back at you. You will be fine! keep in touch with me.

    Marlo : )

  • Hello Marlo

How's it going, Awkward BIACH? Hey hang in there, you'll pull thru. I'm going thru a relapse too myslf - hence I just received notice that I'm to be recalled to the NHNN relapse clinic. Maybe they'll upgrade me to Tysabri® too? But really, I don't do DMDs too well so fingers X-ed they'll find a cure soon. Speak to you soon, tc.

    Jayson xx

  • The biach is back. lol. How are you? yes, they might upgrade you. Oh god, can we call it that? Maybe not. I will speak to you soon. I actually am almost through the relapse but I got a kidney infection and was in hopsital for two days. WTF, right?

  • Nnnnnnoooooo!!!! That is crapola! I am so pleased that you have your book out now, makes the relapse a little more bearable (?) Thanks for the shout out too! I am not discouraged - my Neuro did say even with the Tysabri it doesn't guarantee a relapse-free future, just a few less would be nice! We seem to be playing tag team with these relapses - let's agree not to go out in sympathy for each other again for a long long time! Love to you, Kerri

    P.S. Ordering your book today!

  • M.

I hope that you get back to normal ASAP!

I am very proud of you during this time of turmoil in your life. Your relationship, your new book, worrying that London maybe underwater if we do not get on this global warming thing (just kidding, I THINK :)

You had said that you were shocked U had not relapsed. Maybe being prepared for it will be helpful.

I am sure Tysabri will prevent more once it takes hold.

    Take care love,

    Mark.
