  • Excellent interview with a remarkable indepth discussion on NLP. Now I am actually thinking fo studying it!

  • From listening to Richard Bandler talk one would think that he was the sole cause of the field known as NLP.

NLP wouldn't have come into being without John Grinder, just as it wouldn't exist without Richard Bandler.

When they both started collaborating together they each had skill sets that the other needed, and during their time together a cross-training occurred allowing each of them to possess all the skills necessary to independently model geniuses and then teach the patterning to others.

  • @whicheverwayable Yeah I heard his past was pretty messed up; poor guy. Maybe he got a Masters in manipulation!

  • @rainwilds Who knows, I heard Psychological theory and also computer science and maths. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it's something else entirely or non existent. Apparently, he doesn't talk much about his past and I would guess he makes a lot up.

  • @whicheverwayable Do you know what he got his masters in?

  • Not all psychologists ask about childhood and interpret dreams, there a many evidence based methods (which are similar to NLP and deal with cognitive bias) which have more proven success. I know loads of folk who are NLP trained, they aren't any happier at all and they have spent a fortune. Bandler is full of errors and over-generalisations, and shows such ignorance towards science it's worrying. He is not a doctor, he has a masters degree, he just wants to sound more credible and scientific.

  • Excellent stuff

  • @Otevra13 not sure but i would assume that a person must deal with the physical nature of addiction and then move on to the other areas... habits, defining what use the person has for the drug i.e. to treat emotions... then move on to prefered behaviors and substitutions/alternatives.. i think alot of it is ppl looking for a quick solution to a problem instead of doing the learning/work/self discovery to make productive changes... the person must be open to it tho and willing to changefixedthots

  • @JiggaNiggaFigga there are too many uses for it to count, what u stated is common but its also a generalization... manipulation is something that all people do subconciously in their own ways of their own capabilities... anything past highschool education is esoteric in a way... learning the basics which generally are found freely and easily enables you to do your own research and provide for yourself how you see fit, the specialized areas are where money bcomes more involved

  • NLP is not revolutionary make-your-life better, It's an esoteric art of manipulation and seduction. It is made fo wash your brain, make you addicted, and come back for more... of course for money.

  • @arsenalpricey Maybe he has a deviated septum and his nose is dry and itchy. I play with my balls from time to time but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm horny. Sometimes the boys just aren't riding right. Ya know? Just because someone touches their nose doesn't mean they're lying. Besides, I thought it blinking one's eyes that was the give-away for lying.

  • @LateLostFan ..Thanks, nobody new that!LOL
