A presentation by Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr. M.D.

Plenty of quick fixes are available to treat heart disease - surgery, drugs, and other interventions that can provide temporary relief, but only one treatment has been proven effective in stopping completely the progression of coronary heart disease.

Since 1985 Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr. MD has conducted the longest running study that clearly proves that heart disease can be arrested or reversed. There is now compelling evidence, including published peer reviewed journal articles, showing clearly that heart disease can actually be reversed through lifestyle changes.

Dr. Esselstyn is a Preventive Cardiology Consultant in the Department of General Surgery at the renowned Cleveland Clinic. He has been president of the staff and a member of its Board of Governors, and is the immediate past-chairman of the Clinic${q}s Breast Cancer Task Force.

Filming and editing by Dr William Harris M.D. on November 15, 2003 at the Honolulu Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church

  • salt varies greatly....in geometric structure and how it functions and behaves within the body....lots of good research out there. best regards

  • @Cris528hz Can you point out some good peer reviewed research on this? Youtube doesn't allow posting clickable links here, but you can post descriptions and google search phrases. Thanks.

  • Does anyone know about table salt? I've heard some say that it's poison - worse than kosher salt etc. ?? Thx

  • @stockinettestitch Table salt, kosher salt, sea salt, etc all have pretty much the same effect on your body in terms of the pure salt they contain. Some of them have very small amounts of other minerals which may contribute to taste but are usually not in large enough amounts to depend on as a dietary source. One exception is Iodine, commercial table salt has Iodine added and if you don't have other adequate dietary sources, this could be important for you.

  • Thank you for the information,I think they are great. One thing I don't totally agree with is the salt. Common sense tells me that my body necessitates a certain level of salt. Salt is one of the elements the human body is made of. To take salt completely out of one's diet can be disastrous. Why zombies regains their complete memory back when given them salt. That tells you clearly no salt in the diet can impair memory. Again people do yr own research. From Island girl.

  • @NeilaAzur You are right, salt is essential in our diets. Salt occurs naturally in many foods, but processed foods tend to have way more salt added than is good for you. Like many things too much is bad for you.

  • One suggestion I'd like to make. Put the names of the speakers in the title so more people will find these videos when searching. Other than that, I love the videos.

Oh yeah.. If you could start filming these in HD, you guys would be even more awesome. Again, good job on the informative vids.
