Texline - Clayton Tornado - May 23 2010 Stabilized

This is video of one of the significant tornados near Textline, TX. We were able to get it crossing the road just in front of us.

Juleah and I headed out with fairly low expectations was shocked at what we saw. The first tornado came out of one of the crappiest storms i've ever seen. Being at least 8-10 miles away, I kept trying to explain it away as scud but it was a tornado. The location was likely just N of Texline. That cell put out a couple of other funnels that may have touched down, but then the next cell came into view and started putting down funnels with a nice bowl shape. Then the third cell came and meant business. The first significant tornado was about 5 miles WSW of Texline. After a brief lift up. It came back down and crossed HW 87 just inside NM. Then it got big. We were able to continue videoing it for at least another 15 minutes. Then the 4th cell approached Texline in the dark with another tornado. This one passed just to our S and just N of Texline. We were able to follow it with the lighting. Virtually no chasers, it was just like the old days!
