But did you leave the AA's in the flash? Why?

@ddnn3 Yes the batteries are still in it and it's wired so if you plug in the big pack it bypasses the AAs. This keeps it versatile if you just need a quick strobe and don't want to pull out the whole rig.

Great video! I want to add a pc sync to my but i dont know how to open this flash. Are any other screws but the 4 at the bottom?

@feedthebear51 It's a pain in the butt and you are pretty much guaranteed to break at least one of the tabs at the top. Here's how it's done... Remove the 4 screws and base plate then GENTLY push/wiggle the tabs at the top down while you try to separate the case. You have to turn the flash head sideways to access the tabs. If (when) a tab breaks just put a small dab of epoxy or super glue on the seam of the case when you re-assemble.

For people who might find this to hard, the yn-560 sells for $68 and you can buy a battery pack for it from yongnuo for $45 plus its a bigger better flash.......BUT pretty cool mod

@danieltyack I would be no electrical wizzard (like yourself :) ) but I think it's a bad idea to leave your 4 AAs if you're not using or bypassing them...eventually they will leak and you'll have battery acid running riot on your speedlite!
