Try conveyor feeding your shredder instead of throwing a whole pile of drives in at once. You are going to quickly destroy the drive on that shredder needlessly overloading it and making it auto reverse like this. You would also get more tons per hour through the machine.

Already have conveyor feed. Can't use it for all materials.
