THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR WINDOWS 7. IF YOU WANT IT TO WORK ON THAT OS, YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD VMware Player AND BUY A FRESH COPY OF A WINDOWS XP OPERATING SYSTEM. Title has been fixed.

This is a tutorial for those who own an Adaptec GameBridge AVC-1400 capture card. This is the basic setup, the advanced set up that allows you to connect it to your TV and computer is not shown.

This will work on Vista, but you need to configure the properties of the GameBridge so it is compatible with Windows XP SP3. (Service Pack 3) Installing from the CD directly on Vista will not work. See PhoenixReview's video on how to configure this for Windows Vista.

Q's and A's"

Q1: What are the system requirements for this device?
2.8 GHz (gigahertz)
About 1GB of RAM (Random Access Memory)
Windows XP

Q2: Does this device work on any Vista computing software?
A2: No! Adaptec is too lazy to update their product's driver so don't expect an upgrade from them.

Q3: About the settings... What are the estimates of the files due to length and quality?
A3: Good question. Good settings has bad quality but the files will accumulate to 100MB to 300MB,
Better settings balances out quality and runs from 100MB to 500MB and Best quality settings has the best settings such as picture quality and sound. I hope you have a big hard disk drive because recording sessions using that setting is brutal.

If you have any other questions that I did not list here, just ask.

There is a way to make it Vista compatible, but you must follow the steps accordingly or it won't work the second time!

  • How do i install it with vmplayer?

  • @Zeldafreak007 I know this is a late comment, but in order for you to use this device with VMwareplayer, you need a legal OS of Windows XP to do so and create a virtual disc that allows you to have hard disk space for that OS. This will allow you to install the InterVideo Home Theater software on that. I do own a GameBridge, but after 1300 videos, that device died on me. I hope I can repair it since the one I own now really isn't giving me the satisfaction I desire.

  • man he looked very confused made me start feeling confused

  • @kjo93 That may be the case, I hardly record myself doing tutorial stuff like this, but since it was negotiable, I have received many questions on how I record my videos which is why I couldn't pass up on the request. Sorry for the late reply.

  • I have windows 7, and I tried to do the thing for it but my driver is not found for my device.

  • *continues from last comment* but it should run about $12 or less to get the required materials. Once you have done that, plug the USB 2.0 serial bus adapter into one of the ports and open the InterVideo Home Theater software. If you have put the cables in the right spots and it shows on the screen, you have done it right. I hope this helps.

  • @QuickNukez27 You can play the game on the TV and record on the computer at the same time. You will need three Y-shaped splitters, three double-sided splitter ends to put the needles through, and two double-sided A/V cables that go from both ends. Basically what you do with that is connect one side of the A/V cables to the capture card, and another side that connects to the splitters and the console's A/V cables on the other side, mentioned in the video. They may not be cheap to get this stuff

  • can you play video games on your tv and record? or do u have to play on the computer?

  • @daiatlus79 it always ask for Admin. :) you can change that by putting the low setting of security

  • @daiatlus79 doesnt work :(

  • how to make it work in windows 7: load disc. find every exe, go to properties and select compatibility tab. select winxp sp2. and run as admin (for EVERY exe on the disc!!). then reboot. run install disc. plug in gamebridge. finish install. works fine. got mine running on my pc with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit.
