  • He won first prize and all the specialty awards in the 2005 Int'l. Chopin Competition. The second prize was not awarded for the very reason that he completely blew everyone else out of the water. The judges felt a second prize winner just wasn't deserved of this master.

It's even more ironic that he's a descendant of Chopin. His greatest nephew, I think, like, 5th-generation nephew...

  • FYI: Chopin wrote this waltz watching George Sand's dog chasing his tail. This is an excellent performance, technically perfect with a light touch(which is very hard). Great talent.

  • there is always drama when this guy comes out and it takes half the video before he even gets started. he's not worth the wait

  • @ExVash Where di you get this info? Ive googled this and can't find much on it.

  • is it true that he's a descendant of chopin?? he does look like chopin though.. luv his playing.

  • thanks, I will see avec plaisir :)

  • hmm the second prize was not awarded b/c there were two thrid place winners

  • This piece is supposed to be played fast and light. Honestly though, I would love this piece even better if it was played slowly and expressivly.

  • Hello, let's see the fan site on Rafal Blechacz (winner or the 15th International Chopin Piano Competition) : rafalpianist.ifrance. com

  • That's why it was named by Chopin "Petit Chien", which means "Little Dog". The "Minute" name came later: the publishers named it like that...
