Mona Eltahawy vandalizes AFDI Subway poster

(Comments with rude cursing will not be posted.Sorry) Sept 25, 2012. NYC Times Square. As soon as we saw Mona vandalizing public property with spray paint (I was talking the the NY Post news crew) we headed straight to the poster. She was clearly intending to cover the whole poster with paint, so I first asked her why she thought she had a right to do so. She wouldn't stop, so I stepped between her and the poster and it got very busy. Me getting spray painted as well as the poster. I was surprised how long it went on; it took the police so long to get there. When they did. She was arrested for vandalism.

Mona must understand the difference between free speech and vandalism. I believe the sign she defaced encouraged hatred against the Palestinians; however, vandalism solves nothing.

The sign states a fact: Jihad is a savage act against the infidel. Jihad is motivated by hatred for the infidel. How does the sign encourage hatred. Jihad does that. We should accept and love savagery?

No where does is say "Palestinians' . It is not stereotyping "Palestinians' . Muslims and "Palestinians" are NOT a RACE. To mispronounce a name that I was not remembering correctly, is not RACIST. Ms. Elthaway has a fundamental misunderstanding of the right to freedom of speech. Any exercise of the right must stop where the right for others begins. The right to freedom of speech does not include the right to silence speech with which you disagree. This basic misinterpretation and suppression of free speech is a recurring theme in the Muslim world, especially as it relates to scrutiny and criticism of Islam and Muslim culture.
