Nehemiah Deason monologue "I Love Emily Parker"

Nehemiah used this monologue for an audition at our local children's theatre. He learned it in two evenings and auditioned the next day.

What I would like to see is some other people perform this monologue and upload it in a video response. We would like to get some ideas on how to improve this. Don't worry, it's a freebie that I wrote and I am posting the monologue here for you to copy it if you'd like. I want to see what else can be done with it, so feel free to add to it or improve it with the understanding that I just may use your ideas. So go ahead, give it a try! I love Emily Parker and I am not afraid to say it! Ok, well, to you maybe, but no one at school knows I do.

Emily is the kind of girl that makes you get up in the morning and put on deodorant. Emily is the kind of girl that makes you like cheerleading and kittens! Emily is the only girl for me and I'm going to tell her today, well I'm going to call her tonight, no, maybe tomorrow, ok Thursaday, because she has basketball practice tonight, no maybe I'll just wait till next week, I mean...

Look, I've been in love with this girl since the 3rd grade when she loaned me a pencil. She's so giving...Once, she even let me use her protractor, yeah! She sat next to me for two weeks in the fourth grade and let me just say this; she smells good! It was like soap, and cantaloupe and bubble gum all mixed together in an explosion of Emily goodness!

What am I saying? I don't even know if she likes me. What if I call her and she doesn't even know my name? What if she calls the police because a stranger is calling her? What if she laughs at me...or hangs up on me? What if she tells all the kids at school? What if they all start singing that "Two Little Lovers in a Tree" song? Ok, I'm not calling her! Whoo, I feel better.

He's 5'4 1/2" and yes, he's one of the tallest kids in his school. And yes, his voice started changing back in February when he was in 5th grade. He had up till then, been one of the smaller kids so it's strange for him to be changing at a much faster rate than the rest of the boys his age.
