  • you did a beautiful job with this video and translation. Thank you.

  • the translation was well done i thought. it was pretty spot on. but maybe the emotion just isnt the same. i wouldnt know. not a native arabic speaker. but word for word translation was dead on in my opinion

  • i know what you mean... but its such a beautiful song in arabic that i really wanted to share with people who didnt understand what she was saying...arabic is very rich as a language and certainly not easy to translate. her voice is full of emotion though

  • I'm sorry but the translation butchered the song.

  • lol you are right... do you have a better translation though?

  • Wish I could find this song! Anyone know where to get the CD??

  • The translation is correct 100%

  • Cant get enough of Kalimat...Kalimat..and this is what it is...Kalimat..Words.. :))))

  • I love love loooveee this song n many others by Majida. Nizar Qabbani is a fantastic poet..another poetry written by him n is sung by Kazem Al Saher is Hal Endakki Shak.. I totally agree its difficult n in fact almost impossible to translate Arabic language bcos its is very very rich, you can never get it exact 100% word for word. I am a non-arab but I'm livin in the UAE n I've been exposed to everything arabic..In my view..you've done an excellent job Vinepress..:))

  • I heard this woman many times on TV years ago, but I never liked her. Then a few weeks ago I watched her in concert. She now ranks for me 2nd only to Fairuz. The concert was amazing- her voice, the music, and words to the songs. And this one has just blown me away. Being raised in Australia, we don't learn formal Arabic- and it was only when I read this translated version that I can now appreciate this song. I have listened to it on my car Cd player over 300 times, and I cannot get enough!!!!

  • One more time, i love this song.

  • This song reminds me of my ex :( We translated it in an arabic literature class and it ended up being our story

  • You have a good taste of music VINEPRESS. You did a great job translating this song which is in standard arabic. in 2:28 you translated the word 'TUHFA' as 'JEWEL' but if you look at the next two sentences you'll find the meaning of word 'TUHFA' means 'OEUVRE' . Basically he tells her that she's an expansive oeuvre, one of the most beautiful paintings as the next sentence says.

  • One more time: Awesome!
