Sat. Night Fish Fry in Granny Smith's garage with the whole family. Burr Smith singing (and frying fish), Earl on bass, Chuck on the steel guitar, and Pete on drums. Backup vocals by Sandy & Lori...maybe some others too. At 1:12, notice the cool Porchboard Bass that is used as a bass drum.

  • i hope he cooks better than he sings if not i bet you all got sick my 4 year old grand daughter sings better than that

  • @janenance76 Gee, we had a good time that day, sorry it bugs you. How did you happen to press play on this little clip anyway?

Burr's fish is the best, perfect every time. maybe his voice wasn't in the best shape for this recording, he had a heart attack a month later, and bypass surgery. Singing better than ever now. Of course, I'm sure you won't agree. Please post of video of the granddaughter for us, would love to hear what a real singer sounds like.

  • You need to sing wabash cannon ball and convoy keep on trucking i cant wait to hear some more

  • @Truckdrivenpro1 We do Cannonball...but Burr had bypass surgery recently and isn't playing again yet. We'll certainly do some more better video in the future!

  • Great to see Burr pickin' away and I figure you could use a cardboard box, a soup pan and a couple skillets and still keep a tight beat. You do a riverrats heart good.

  • Thanks 4u2, appreciate the nice words.

    Are a Btown native?

  • Rifles were high and holy things to them and they knew five inch broadside guns they talked patronizingly of the war and were concerned about rations They were the leather necks the old timers they were the old breed of american regular regarding the service as home and war as an occupation and they transmitted their temper and character viewpoint to the high-hearted volunteer mass which filled the ranks of the marine brigade
