Secession petitions have now been filed in every single state in America, but only a few states have managed to get enough petitions to actually warrant a response from the White House. Leading the pack is the state of Texas, where even Republican governor Rick Perry has tossed out the idea of leaving the union. But when you really think about it, the United States might actually be better off without states like Texas and Alabama and Mississippi dragging us down to their level, and Mike Papantonio spoke with investigative journalist Rick Outzen recently about whether or not we should bid farewell to the south.

Finally, your slam on FDR is truly pathetic. I'm aware he upheld Jim Crow, but many of your libertarian ilk think it should be re-instated in one form or another, and Jim Crow like the south's maneuver with the civil war, was an abuse of the power of the tenth amendment, and it's why we have the 14th amendment which was made to prevent such things from happening. Sad it didn't take until the 60s for that to be addressed, but libertarians and conservative democrats lobbied to keep it that way.

Finally slavery was done away with in 1865, you're off by roughly 90 years or so. But yes, it was a brand of fascism which lead to the civil war to begin with, as the south was run by a deeply conservative and religious populous. Slaves could only be owned by the rich plantation owners due to the prices on them and they, along with southern baptists of the time abused the tenth amendment's power as well as invoked the use of the bible's justification of slavery to start the war to begin with.

Socialism is actually right in the center of the two. On a scale of 1-10 with communism as 1 and fascism as 10, socialism is 4-6. Arguing anything else is pure ignorance.

You basically agreed with me on how authoritarianism is the only similarity between communism and fascism. They were such polar opposites that Hitler had killed communists as well as socialists in the concentration camps, since anything that didn't fit the far right wing narrative was what he viewed as the great evil of the world. Fascists and communists are both statists, in that they favor a state-directed economy. Communists are obviously more collectivistic, and to the left of fascists, but that doesn't change that fascists are far to the left of conservative and libertarians. Both Mussolini and Hitler were skeptical of the free market, believing in heavy handed intervention, and a "middle way" between communism and capitalism. Also, Frank Roosevelt was a conservative now? You realize he supported Jim Crow, right?

It's even in the fucking dictionary, communism forces complete control of the marketplace while facism is where the corporations and the rich take control of the government.
