David describes the third and fourth qualities of this social change formula in part 3 of this video series—empowerment and replicability. David calls empowerment his core competency. Over the last three decades he has helped thousands of people take personal responsibility for changing what they want to change in their lives. And because behavior change requires more than just an intention to change, he has developed a set of tools to assist them in making change happen. The fourth qualities—replicability and scalability—take the lessons of personal empowerment and expands them to groups, blocks, neighborhoods, and entire communities so that large numbers of people can together engage in real social change.
