This was my first attempt at the a SO50 satellite, it was not without it's problems, but overall a good experience - this is a short video as I lost the sat as it was traveling North and never found it again, was having problems with one leg of my tripod, I believe I did get in the satellite this time thou, so it was almost a good thing - but I am still calling this a failed attempt as when I keyed up a horrible noise came out of the radio. I have since figured out with the help of a few others what was going on and I think the next time will be much much better! So maybe this video will show what not to do! and Help someone else.
Keep tryng, youre gonna make it. What about trying to hold the beam in your hand? I better like that, as it helps making quick corrections on antenna position.

I did finally get it - I considered taking it off the tripod - but was having a hard time with the radio in one hand and the antenna in the other - I have a couple of ideas on improving the tripod thou.
I have been looking at least a 40 degree bird - I can pick them up at about 17 degrees....My first contact was at about 20 - 22 degrees...it was a max 74 degree bird. So yes I have been looking for the higher elevations. Thanks - 73s, LeRoy
